Newbury female voice community choir throws barn dance to celebrate 15th anniversary
The mayor of Newbury recently joined InCantata Community Choir as it celebrated its 15th anniversary with a barn dance for members, along with their families and friends.
“We were delighted that mayor Andy Moore and mayoress Sheila Moore were able to join us for some food and dancing,” said Jay Handscombe. “Rounding the evening off nicely, InCantata treated everyone to a rendition of Abba’s Thank You For The Music.”
InCantata will soon be starting to rehearse for the festive season with a number of local events booked.
These include performing at the Newbury Lights Switch On Festival, The U3A, West Berks Foodbank and Highclere Castle.
New members are always welcome, visit www.incantata.co.uk and Facebook for further details.
Member Jay says: “We are a non-auditioned female voice choir based in Newbury.
“Led by our musical director, Nic Cope, our aim is to encourage and promote the enjoyment and well-being that music and singing can bring.”
“The choir meets weekly during term time on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-11.30am at St Mary’s Church Hall, Greenham.
“We would be delighted to welcome potential new members at any time.
