City Arts Newbury announce winners after visitors vote for their favourite pieces in September Ceramics show
CITY Arts September Ceramics includes the work of local ‘Up and Coming‘ makers in the show, which this year ran from 13th – 22nd September.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors voted for their favourite pieces and prizes were presented on the final day.
Congratulations to Alex Pawson whose wonderful highland cow was voted People’s Favourite in the adult section and to Emily from Downe House who’s gravity defying Cabinet of Curiosities was the Primary/Secondary People’s Favourite.
Other prizes went to Emma Samuel and Andrea Newill and in the children’s section Leila, from St Gabriel’s School, and Keiran and Clara from Clay Skills for Kids at City Arts.
This year’s judges were local ceramicists, Diana Pattenden and Katherine Kingdon and prizes were kindly dotated by Bluematchbox Pottery Supplies, Scarva Pottery Supplies, Ugly Duckling Pottery Painting Coffee House and City Arts Newbury.
There was also a vote for the People’s Favourite Exhibitor. This year that was won by Leah Blake (Leah is on Instagram as @cromwell.studios) for her amazing animal sculptures.
You can see these, and Alex’s Pawson’s winning cow on display in the Art Hub Café, City Arts Newbury throughout October and November.
